Last Thursday was one of those unforgettable days that brought together passion, friendship, and a strong sense of community. At Tongmyong University, we, the Bangladeshi student group, had reserved the football field from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.—something we now regularly do every Tuesday and Thursday. It has become our little tradition here in Korea, creating a space that feels just like home.
What made this day even more special was that many of our Bangladeshi seniors from Kyungsang University joined us. Since their university doesn’t offer such a facility, they were excited to be a part of the game. That day, students from all levels came together—seniors, juniors, and classmates. We formed teams and kicked off the match with high energy and even higher spirits.
It truly felt like we were back in Bangladesh. The vibe, the energy, the friendly competition—it was all there. Playing football not only gave us joy but also kept us active and helped strengthen our bonds with each other. It was especially nice to meet many new juniors, including a few from my hometown, Cumilla. That small connection made the day even more heartwarming.
Our team performed well—we won three matches and lost one. At one point, I injured my leg slightly and had to take a short break. During that time, I noticed a group of Korean boys playing football on the other side of the field. The entire scene was beautiful—Korean and Bangladeshi students sharing the same field, enjoying the game in their own ways. It was a true reflection of international harmony and student life in Korea.
That Thursday wasn’t just about football. It was about community, cultural connection, and the shared joy of sport. It reminded me that even when we are far from home, we can still create moments that feel familiar and fulfilling. Truly, it was a special day for everyone.
