You may have seen their logos in Korean dramas, because when you're telling a story about life in Korea, how can you forget convenience stores? They are a core part of daily life! They have now become a place to hang out and grab a warm meal. Some convenience stores here offer microwaves, hot water for your instant noodles, small seating areas, and even charging ports for your phone.
One thing that shocked me was the variety of food you can find. From triangle kimbap and freshly brewed coffee to lunch boxes and tteokbokki, the options feel endless and surprisingly delicious. The best part is that most stores restock frequently, so the food is usually fresh. There's even a whole aisle dedicated to beauty products and travel essentials, which definitely comes in handy if you're ever in a pinch!
In my home country, you'd go to convenience stores just to buy things real quick. Most of them are not open until late night too! You can imagine my surprise when I came here and saw the stores' bright lights shining in the middle of the night. Just writing this makes me want to go to my nearest convenience store for a short midday break.
