Hello.

This is Ciel from Famigo who informs you about the law and visa common sense in Korea every day.

Once you find a residence in Korea, there is something you must do.

It's called 'Report of Relocation'.

Failure to report a move-in may result in disadvantages from fines, deposits, and tax credits, especially for foreigners, which may also be treated as a criminal act (unreported change of place of stay) and may lead to difficulties in issuing and extending visas in the future.

Today, let's look into this Report of Relocation.

1. Subjects

- a person who resides legally in Korea

- A foreigner registered with an alien registration card in Korea

- Not applicable for short-term stays (90 days or less)

2. Deadline for reporting: Within 14 days after the change of the place of move or stay

3. Method and place of report: Immigration office or community center (online application not allowed)

4. preparatory documents

- an alien registration card

- Copies of the lease agreement (submission of additional family relationship certificates if the person is not a contractor)

5. Precautions

- Online reporting is not allowed, and you must visit in person

- Penalty may be up to 1 million won

- Penalties for future visa issuance, etc. if not reported

- You have to change your address directly in a public institution, so check the relevant contents

- If you live with your family, you need a family relationship certificate

For additional inquiries or requests, we will inform you through the Famigo Channel Talk.

We will try to make sure that you live a stable life in Korea today as well.

Famigo
